About Us
Pacific Mountain Guides LLC was started back in 2003 by Otto Kulm and his family. The goal was to always be a quality go to destination for the serious outdoorsman. Otto created and accomplished that goal for the first nine years of the business with hundreds to happy clients and successful adventures into the wilderness of Alaska.
Sadly in 2012 we lost Otto to a carbon monoxide accident, way too early in his life. We all miss Otto more than words can describe, but we all know his desire would be for us to continue doing what we all love and bring people out to explore the wilderness of Alaska.
After his passing Pete Mayer and Tim Bouchard have taken over PMG and continue operating PMG as Otto always had and in a way we know he would be proud of. We are still offering the same high quality hunts with the same set of great guides.
We still believe our reputation depends on your success, our group of professional guides & outfitters will do everything possible to ensure that your trip is successful. We are proud to offer some of the best trophy hunting and fishing destinations that Alaska has to offer. This has taken many years to establish the best relationships & partnerships in the business!

Tim Bouchard

Guiding is what Tim does, from big game, to fishing to waterfowl. He lives in Valdez year round and is on the water most of those days. When you call PMG you will hear Tim on the other end, as the owner of PMG he spends a lot of his time making sure your hunt goes as well as it can. Having hunted in Prince William sound for the last 15 years we will make sure you have a great experience.
Pete Mayer

Pete has been working with Pacific Mountain Guides for over 8 years. He is a great guided and has hunted all over Alaska. As local Valdez resident he spends his time where we hunt.
Brian Rhodes
Assistant Guide
Brian is our bear master at PMG, but has been working with us in PWS for the last 12 years doing, bear, waterfowl and fishing trips. You will find him on our live-aboard bear hunts chasing big brown bears and black bears.
Dave Hensel

You will find Dave with us all fall climbing our mountains chasing goats. Dave has been with PMG going on 8 years and knows his goats
Tony Abbott
Assistant Guide
Tony is on his third season with PMG and hunts the spring bear season on our live-aboard hunts. Tony travels the world bring people hunting when he is not here in Alaska.
The Kulm’sOtto will always be part of what we do in spirit, we know he is up there smiling every time we harvest a big brown bear.
There was never a man that was happier on his boat and out hunting.
Jessica, Brock and Sadie Jo will continue to be part of the company and come out on trips any chance they can get.
Please be advised that all of our trips are physically demanding, so the success & enjoyment of your trip is greatly dependent upon your own capabilities. If you are also looking for guaranteed Fish & Game out of the Ritz Hotel, then you should go to a high fence ranch or a fish farm. We are in it for the challenge & respect of a fair chase adventure!
